Mini haul + Swatch

Hello again :)
I can honestly say I won't be posting as often as this all the time but I just wanted to share this mini haul with you that I picked up while at my local Sally's.

I'd like to point out that all I went in to get really was a new bottle of China Glaze White on White! (not shown in the pic)  So yes I got a little distracted....  I picked up 2 dappen bowls, 2 OPI polishes, sanding sticks and a clear UV gel by ASP.
I was interested in picking up a clear/builder gel so that I could use it as an alternative to fixing up my nails when I crack them.  Currently I fix them using a fibreglass overlay as I was taught the fibreglass product in my first year of college.  We are just starting our gel class and on our first day I did a clear gel extension on a classmate.  Seemed easy enough, looks amazingly shiney too!  So I will have her practice on me in class and replace the fibreglass overlay I currently have on with the gel instead!

Here are the swatches of the two OPI.  On the left we have Dining Al Frisco, which just caught my eye as I looked at the display.  This polish is from the San Francisco Collection and is a medium shade of blue that has the faintest hint of bluey/purpley shimmer.  It was almost a 1 coat cover but I did 2 shown here.
The polish on the right is Deutsch You Want Me Baby? and is a burnt orange shimmery polish.  This is from the Germany Collection and I got it on sale.  It was almost a 1 coat also but I have 2 coats shown in the picture.   Both are with no top coat and picture taken inside.

Well thats it for now!  Thanks for readin and feel free to check out and join me on my social network locations!

A lil intro...

Hello all,
So this is my first time attempting a blog... I hope I can keep it going and share my little polish world with others and I always enjoy reading other peoples posts.  I figured since this is first post and all I should do a lil introduction about my and my nail passion!

So where did it all start...I can't place it specifically for you but I do remember experimenting in my early teens with really crappy nail art attempts.  I had no fancy tools or knowledge like I do now, I would just make different patches of colours using the polish brush itself!  Later in my teens I got my first striper brush set and even an airbrush!  A favorite design of mine became the ladybug, it was one of the suggested designs in a leaflet that came with my striper brushes.

I won't lie, it didn't look this good the first time I did it!  Practice makes perfect though.I actually lost interest in doing my nails for a little bit as I was busy with life and suddenly in my early 20s it came back with a vengance.  I can't even pinpoint what set it off but I know for sure I won't be letting it go again!

I applied for a Nail Services course at my local college and was accepted.  This summer I recieved my level 2 certificate and was accepted into my second (final) year.

So this would be where I am currently at right now!  Just started my second year and its really exciting.  I'm learning to do acrylics and gels, work in the campus salon, help to create an event to be held at the college and there is even a creative unit where I can make up a nail design of my choice.
