Hello readers, it's time to share with you all the July edition of Meebox and this months theme was Rio. Unless you are hiding under a rock you will know it's almost time for the Rio Olympics so the theme was aptly picked.
As usual the box contained three nail polishes and two nail related items. The first being a large sheet of stickers that has on it a mixture of parrots and flowers. They come from the brand Deco It. This was a new brand to me so I took a look at their website and they have a large variety of stickers on offer for £4 or under along with other things. Meebox is certainly good at introducing me to new nail websites to shop from! I love that they go through a wide range of brands when picking box contents. The other item included was a polish bottle holder by Tweexy. I have seen this on social media before and it was an interesting addition to the box. This came in the blue glitter colour but there was other options on the makers website too.
Let's move onto the polishes. This is a really big bottle at 17ml and made by Trust Fund Beauty. Once more this brand is new to me and a first for my collection. This shade is called Denim With Diamonds.
I love the name of the polish, it just suits the shade so perfectly. The deep blue is loaded with delicate flakes of a lighter blue glitter.
Moving to polish two we have a Morgan Taylor which is brilliantly named Later Alligator. It's a leaf green and I did two coats and top coat for the swatches.
I'm not sure this colour suits me but I can definitely use it for future nail art. Considering I don't ever wear just plain coloured nails, I think it's going to work out fine.
I've saved the best, in my opinion, for last. The photos on my pc screen do not do this colour justice. This is a bright neon yellow and I love it. It's by Models Own and it called Louis Lemon.
As you would expect with a neon polish, it is best painted over a white base and that is what I did here. Two coats of white and one of Louis Lemon with top coat. This came in at a good time considering my go-to neon yellow is almost out. So there we have July's Meebox. Which was your favourite this month? Hi everyone, the end of the month is fast approaching and the subscription boxes have arrived. The theme for July's Nailbox was Paradise and along with three polishes there was a set of toe separators and some lush smelling coconut nail balm.
Out of the three polishes this month there was one brand I did not recognize and that was Angelica. I thought I was starting to narrow down my list of "not tried polishes" but I keep finding more!
I was interested to try out this white shade as I have always been loyal to China Glaze White on White as my go to. This shade is aptly called Snow White and for the swatches I did two coats and top coat. This is by the brand Angelica. I had a quick look around their website and they started back in 2010 and offer a range of colours at an affordable price.
I found this to be a little more watery than my favourite CG and even after two coats I still felt that there was some patchiness in places. I think I'll keep this one for trying out nail art with and see how it works for that.
Polish two is a True Brit London colour and it even came in a cute box packaging. I instantly liked the look of this shade as I could see the hints of bronze shimmer in it. It's called The Summer House and I did two coats and top coat.
I have to saw I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more shimmer showing up through the colour. It's still a really nice shade that I like even though I don't think nudes/beige suits my pale skin tone. I always find the True Brit bottles really clumpy and heavy but at least you can take off the large square lid and work with the smaller cylinder shaped one instead.
Third and final polish comes from Nails Inc and is one of their gel effect range. Called Soho Place this is a one coat green. It did dry to a glossy finish but I always add a top coat so that is what is shown in the swatches.
It's so shiny you can see my camera reflection! I always love when you find a one coat polish as they are handy for when you are in a rush. This brand is starting to creep more and more into my collection. I think it's great to find other brands to try out and fall in love with instead of sticking to set ones.
Since this month also included some toe separators I really have the urge to do a french pedicure now. I think that might have been Nailbox's plan considering they provided you with a white polish to! I am in love with the coconut nail balm that was included by the brand Nailberry. I looked at the website and it shows this balm is sold for £12! Considering I paid £15 for everything I've shared with you today (including postage), that is a pretty amazing deal.

The theme for the month was Red Carpet and there was even 5 special boxes that contained a Chanel Polish. Unfortunately my box wasn't a lucky one but I still liked what I got, so lets jump into it.
This month is three polishes (or four if you were one of the lucky five) and some gold nail studs from Sparkly Nails. This website sells some cute nail art items, so feel free to take a look HERE.
Polish number one is by Leighton Denny called Feel The Burn. Now one of the great thing I think about these boxes is receiving brands that I haven't ever bought and this is one of two that arrived in the package I'd never tried. This polish is amazing! If all his other polishes apply to this standard then I am impressed.
This is just ONE coat! It is completely opaque and shown here with no top coat. Application was really smooth, it dried really fast and the formula was just over all great to work with. My monitor is making this colour show up pillar box red but it is a much deeper, burnt shade of red. I can't wait to try more of this brand.
Sparkle sparkle! How about this beauty of full on gold glitter? Made by NailsInc this is Chelsea Embankment. Now on first appearances of the bottle I had the impression that this would be more of a topper polish or one that needed multiple coats (or even sponging) to achieve solid colour.
Well I was amazed at the coverage that came out in the first coat. The glitter is very dense but this does not effect the thickness of the polish - in fact the polish had a nice thin, easy to work with consistency. I applied a second coat and got what you see in the pictures. Look at the sparkle! Love this polish. Now does it come in silver.....?
Final polish of the box is a second brand I had not heard of; Smith & Cult. Interesting choice of name, this is called Porn-A-Thon. It is a peachy-nude and actually looks quite nice, though it would suit better a darker skin tone than mine.
There was one thing I wasn't so keen on with this polish and that was the brush. I'm finding it hard to get the words to describe to you what it was like. I guess it was almost like it was slightly clumped together and didn't have the softness of other brushes to spread out neatly on application. I managed to use it okay though and got the picture result in just two coats. The formula is really nice, I just would like a different brush. So there we have it. February's been and gone and even with the extra day it still seems way too fast. I'm looking forward to this months box which has the theme Kawaii. Did you receive a Meebox this month? Hello readers! Surprised at another post so soon? I had to get these squeezed in this weekend as I'm off on my holidays Monday (woo!!!) Let's get talking about what was in January's Nailboxuk which had the theme Valentines. You can find all information here on how to subscribe and get your own box.
As I'm sure you will have guessed the shades were in pink and red but they also included a tiny packet of Love Hearts and some orange woodsticks. For this months nail related item you were sent the Elegant Touch 24k Gold Ridge Filler Base Coat.
How pretty does this look? You can see the flecks of gold in it. Now I do have very slight ridging in my nails, though I don't use any of the special ridge filler base coats. However the sparkly gold nature of this one meant I couldn't wait to try it.
Look at the gold shining through! It dried nice and quick and when I applied the other colours on top, they all applied smoothly. I would also use this as a perfect base for a french manicure as the gold flecks would add extra class to your manicure. After all, what girl doesn't love some 24k gold?
Our first polish is by Seche. You guys should know by now how much I adore their top coat and refuse to use any other, so I had high hopes for this polish to live up to my expectations.
This colour is called Rendezvous and it's a beautiful deep pink that is a one coater! As expected the formula of this is just perfect. I've shown it without top coat and I think its beautiful. Being my first impression for the Seche colour range, I have to say that I'm impressed and look forward to trying out more in their range!
Second polish is by Sinful Pro Shine and is called Babydoll. As it sounds, its a pretty pastel pink. I've done two coats and no top coat for the pictures. It's a little sheer on the first coat and you have to be careful of brush strokes showing through but I do really like the shade. Pink is a close second in what colours I like to use the most so I'm always happy to have more shades in the collection.
This macro shot actually ties in with the third "polish" in this months box. I feel I can't truely use the word as the nature of the product means you don't apply it like one though it comes in a polish base. Confused?
This macro shot might make more sense of my words for you. As you can see this is jam packed with small red hearts in a clear suspension base. This polish by NailsInc is called Alex Hearts. It's got a tiny polish brush to help you fish out the hearts to use. I found the brush pretty useless for doing so and ended up pouring out some polish onto tinfoil and then picking out the hearts I wanted that way. With Valentines Day coming up (and for some reason me completely forgetting this fact) that means its time for me to create a design for this theme soon. I see me using these hearts as part of it so stay tuned for that!

Hello all, Yes, yes I'm just a tad behind on getting this post up. I blame the boyfriend for not hearing the postie at the door on Christmas Eve which meant I had to wait ages for the post office to open again to finally get my goodies. I am still loving getting these each month and can't wait to open them up to see what's inside.
Here is the contents for December; 3 polishes, a Sallly Hansen nail art pen and Elegant Touch tweezers. The tweezers lived up to my expectations in terms of quality and stay inline with the other Elegant Touch items I've received thus far.
I was very interested to try out this pen. I have always used a dotting tool or striper brush for any of the fine detail work I do so I wondered just how this would compare to it.
The dots were very cleanly placed and all came out the same size. When using a dotting tool you go from large to small dots. From the macro you can see that the dots appear not to be fully opaque, however this isn't noticeable at a standard distance.
The lines again in the macro shot appear to show as slightly sheer but at standard distance this isn't noticeable. I feel that if you were wanting super fine lines then this pen is not ideal for that as for my personal preference they are a little on the thick side. If you were trying to do an abstract design (like I love to do!) the sweeping curved lines that I like would be very hard to do with this as I like the lines to come to a point at the end and with this pen you get the same consistency all the way. Don't see this as a huge negative though. I can see this pen being very useful to newbies to nail art. The concept of holding a pen gives you a more comforting feeling of being in control of the design more then using a flexible striping brush. What are your thoughts on pens VS brush?
Check out this macro shot of the Nails Inc Blossom topper called Bloomsbury Way. This polish contains blue and pink hexes, tiny light pink hexes and shredded pale pink (possibly even white) pieces. Super pretty! You get a good amount of product from one brush stroke but you may want to use the patting method to fill in any gaps.
I applied one coat of Bloomsbury Way over the other two polishes. One "coat" gave good coverage but I did dab a little bit more on to any area that I felt was a little light. I really like this polish. It contains a great selection of "product" (not sure of the exact word I want here, but you know what I mean!) and they all compliment each other. Nicely done.
Polish two is by Morgan Taylor and has the fun name of Best Ball Gown Ever. It's a lilac but with a shimmer of gold/green. Very hard to capture on camera. I applied two coats for an opaque finish.
The shimmer comes through a little on this macro shot. Application was smooth and it dried to a satin like finish. I didn't apply top coat for these pictures. I really like this one and the name gives it brownie points too!
Last polish is Rimmel London Marshmellow Heaven. How cute is that name?! Keeping with the theme of the box being purples, this one is a pastel shade.
Once again for the picture I've done two coats of colour and no top coat. It was a little sheer on first coat but smoothed out on the second. It dried to a shiney finish but I would still always apply top coat.
So there we have it: Decembers Nailboxuk review... in January! Better late than never right? ;) I adore purple so I this box was fantastic for me. The Sally Hansen nail art pen was fun to try out and the tweezers always come in handy and are of high quality. Welcome back :) As the title says this blog is going to be me sharing with you my swatches and opinions on Nailboxuk's October edition. I'm still loving the products they are sending out each month and the £15 price tag is really affordable for what you are getting. Another big plus is the fact I get to try out brands/colours I wouldn't normally go for.
So here is this months contents; three polishes, and two nail products. Nailbox works closely with Elegant Touch having already sent out their branded cuticle nippers, toe nail clippers and cuticle pushers and the quality of these items have been fantastic so I expect the scissors to be of similar quality.
This was an interesting item in the box; Nicole by OPI drying drops. On the back it claims to make nails dry to the touch in 60 seconds and completely dry in 5 minutes using 1-2 drops per nail. When doing my swatches I gave this a try and found it was closer to being 1.5-2mins before they became touch dry, though this is still obviously quicker than letting them dry themselves. Another bonus for using this product is it contains jojoba and vitamin E to nourish your cuticles as it drys the polish.
The first polish I swatched was Rimmel London Caramel Cupcake. This is one of their 60 seconds fast dry polishes. When in the bottle I didn't realise it actually had a faint shimmer to it that only came out when I applied it.
For these swatches I did two coats of colour and that was it. I feel this colour isn't particularly suited to my skin tone as I'm so pale already I like to use bolder colours. I have no complaints about the application and the colour was opaque on the second coat.
Second polish is by NailsInc and is called Kensington High Street. Now this shade is more suited to me! It's a beautiful deep berry shade and its beautiful. Out of the three pictures I took this one is the most accurate for colour. My other two pics came out more on the red side.
This shade is gorgeous! I can't wait to use it in a nail design. It fits perfectly with the Autumn season colour pallet and was a great choice for this box. I've done two coats and top coat for these pictures though it was almost a one coater, I just always prefer a second coat to make sure its perfect. I'm starting to see why everybody loves NailsInc so much as I've yet to be disappointed by any of their products I've received in these boxes.
For the last polish we have Essie Summit Of Style, a gold glitter topper. For the above macro shot I did two coats of the glitter on its own just to show you how thick a coverage you can get. It's actually an amazing amount of glitter in just one coat!
Here I've given you some ideas of what this will look like over a coloured base. This is just one coat of Summit Of Style over each colour with top coat. See what I mean about the quantity of glitter in one coat?! I tried it over black, Kensington High Street and white. I'm really impressed with how thick the glitter is. Usually with these types of glitter toppers, you have to try and pat the polish on to get a good coverage but this wasn't needed. Thumbs up for this one Essie!
