Insert Epic Title Here

I actually find it harder to come up with a post title than I do to fill the post with content haha.  So what's the latest in my little nail art world?  Let's see here!  Still having some issues with editing.  I know whats wrong with it now and I can't fix it without buying a new camera and that's not an option right now.  I have a couple videos already edited and good to go with no black spots after trying to render them I think 10+ times.  Its just gonna be one of those things for now.  I will keep trying to edit the vids early and hopefully get them mostly without black spots in them.  In saying that I didn't manage to do it with a slightly different vid I put up for you guys.

I finally managed to get my camera set up in a semi decent way in order to start showing you guys my acrylic and gel work!  After 3 full days of trying to render this on properly I had to just suck it up that it blacked out my clip of me doing the top coat.  Considering all the attempts I had done I figured it was the best I was gonna get and I was at the point of being ready to scrap the video altogether!

Today I uploaded this video (with no black spots!!)
I really liked this design, its not hard to do but it looks really classy and of course it has some bling on it!

This one ended up being my Christmas mani!  I know its not exactly your "traditional" nail art you would expect but I like to be different so here we are!  I had done it in blue but something I wasn't quite liking about it so it ended up being black.

Something more traditional you say?  Ok.  How about this christmas manicure done on a 6 year old? :)

Cute huh?  She was so excited to have it done.  So far my youngest client!  I would like to do little princess parties where I can pamper a group of girls with some mini nail art :)  I am available on request!

Just before college broke for the holidays I did a couple of the girls with some glitter gel toes.
Gotta love some sparkle!  I still have my pink glitter toenails too :)  Not sure when I will feel like changing them to something different.

I also did some experimenting with colour blending acrylics!  This was really fun to do and I want to do some more!  I will get round to filming a tutorial on this too!

Well thats it for now guys.  Please join me on any of my social media for more frequent updates of my work!  Thanks for reading :)

Getting angry at editing issues!

Pretty self explanatory title on this one to be honest!  I spent all day Friday trying to work out what was wrong with my video.  There was a file that when I rendered it would black screen but you would still hear the sound.  I tried deleting the file, re-editing it, I tried re downloading off my camera and then re-editing the new file back in; same result.  I gave up and had to put text in towards the end :(

This is a really simple yet eye catching design to do.  I have also done it in purple before.

My other video that was loaded last week was a simple french that I added a foil flower to.  Check it out here:

Let me know if you guys try any of my designs out, I would love to see them on my social media!
I am thinking of trying to set up my camera so that I can record myself using the nail trainer to do my acrylic and gel designs.  I really want to share some of these with you!  I need to have a play around with my work station and see what I can do.  Then it's also having the time!  Only one week left at college though, but still got work!

I had a gel infill and recolour to do on this client :)  She is just loving her nails!  She said that she never would of thought to have her nails done before cos she hates her hands but now everyone looks to her nails and showers her with comments!  Its a perk of the job to help people feel good about themselves :)

Here is the before picture of my nail bitter assessment!  It was hard work I tell you.  The thing is we can talk through all the correct ways to go about doing a nail biter, but we never physically practice on one cos we don't have any in our class, so you really are thrown in the deep end for this test!
This was the result.  I felt it could of went better for the finished result but as I mentioned before this really was my first attempt at a nail biter and it just had the added stress of assessment thrown in there!  I added some rhinestones and decals to complete the design and also to cover some of my nail art unit.

I'm going out tomorrow night so I decided to sparkle up my toes!  This is holographic pink gel toes

I have been practicing sculpting little flowers using acrylic and now that I have myself a decent brush to do it, I'm getting really pleased with the results!

Really cute huh? :)  I'm proud of this!  Now to keep getting better and more creative!
I also worked on this batman design for a client request who in the end didn't turn up for the appointment and then unfollowed me on Twitter when I messaged them about it.  I understand things come up, people can forget etc, but please remember that my time is important too and I make time for you (and in this case also spent time to custom make a design) so please be considerate of this.

I did this cute and simple flower design on another client:

Your nails don't have to be long to get art on!  Some designs can fit on short nails really well!

That's it for this update guys!  Thanks for reading and thanks if you follow me on any of my social media!  Until next time!

Ohhi December.....

So here we are with another year almost over.  Funny how fast my college time has flown in.  Doesn't feel like I even started college that long ago but its now 1.5 years later!  Looking forward to graduating in June though.  I just hope I can make my dream of being self employed work!

I have been working recently on doing some nail art using gel!  I think its turning out pretty good!  Next step is to use acrylic to make bows and flowers.

I have started to make up a wheel with gel art on it only!  I'm sure it won't take me long to fill it.

Next up is a couple pics of my recent nail art.  This is what I am wearing now (just painted them last night)

I love doing abstract patterns.  They are so simple but they look so wow.

This is design I was wearing last week.  Very simple to do but with plenty of bling!  Remember to check out my youtube every Friday to see a new nail art video.  I also load other videos as and when I can! (such as hauls and how to's)

In relation to work on others I have done recently, here is a couple pics of a clients gel nails and painted toes,
Client requested a gel overlay as she was having some issues with her nails splitting.  We then decided to go for a gel colour on top and to have a nail art accent finger too!  The abstract pattern is done using gels.

For her toes she wanted a colour to match up as best I could with her fingers so we used this really nice shade from Avon and then I painted the black flower on the big toe, popped a rhinestone in the center and then topped it off with some glitter so that extra sparkle!

Finally here is last weeks video.  A really fun and bright animal print design.  I adore this colour!  I kept looking at my hands all week it's that bright :)

Thanks for reading guys!  I hope you enjoying following me and seeing all my work.  Remember you can find me on all these places:

I bought a lot of things......

Hello everyone! :)
I didn't leave it so long this time to update!  (hurray)  I have been on a bit of a spending spree so there is a couple of haul videos to share with you!
Firstly there is some items from Banggood.  I had watched many other youtube vids showing there items and it was only a matter of time until I tried them out for myself too.

I picked a few transfers and some acrylic.  Silly me ordered pink when I wanted white!  Oh well.  I tried it out and it is a very nice shade of pink, not too dark but not too light, and it was of a good consistency (I used it with NSI liquid).  Take a look at my video to see everything and how they look on a practice nail at the end!

Now the BIG spree came on Monday when I went to my local NSI.  (For those unaware of NSI they are one of the leading companies in nail products and have a fantastic range.  It is actually the range we use at our college too)

Really I think I can let the video speak for itself!  I picked myself up the kit created for our college course as it made a fantastic basis for me to be able to start out on my own properly next year when I'm qualified fully.  There was also a Sally's near by so of course we took a trip there too....

I tried out some nail art using gel the other day
I think my penguin needs some work!  I liked the marbling and blending effect, now to have a client want it done ;)

Here are a set of sparkly purple glitter acrylics I did on a work colleague.  The picture does not do the shiney justice!!  This was taken with my phone camera though.

This is a set of gels done at the college,  She had broken her thumb nail and it was so odd shaped it was very hard to work with!

This was a special request nail art.  I created it to match the clients outfit for her son's wedding :)

A set of natural gels I done :)

How about some more flag nail art?!  These were fun to do.

Here is a vid of a recent nail art deisgn.  I ended up doing my toes with it first then liked it so much it ended up on my fingers!  I don't often match but for 1 week I did!

This is the last for this post I promise!!  Another nail art video!

Thanks for reading guys!  ~Please check me out on my social media and share your nails with me!~

Where does the time go?

Hello all!
Sometimes I feel like there is just never enough time in the day!  With 3 days of college and 3 days of work it leaves me one day off and sometimes its not even a day off because I will have some people getting nails done!  It's good to keep busy though and I am trying to build up my clientele for when I finish college and go it alone!
I am currently waiting on a delivery of nail goods from Bangood to get here, which I'm hoping should turn up this week and I will do a mini video on that.  On the 25th I'm going to the NSI near to me as it is VAT free and I'm picking up a lot of stuff so that will be another video to do!  I'm also planning a new toe nail art video once I find the time to paint my toes!  I am also wanting to do a second how to video on fixing a cracked nail, this time with acrylic.

So what's my latest work you ask?  Lets see what I have here for sharing :)
This was one of the designs I have wore recently:

It was done using a fan brush and 4 shades of blue.  I added the rhinestone to give a little bling.  I am so far behind in the video editing, this one might get done before new year!!

I had a gel nail client one of the days I was at college and this is the end result :)  She was a lovely lady and will be back this week for her infill.  I love the colour of this.

This here is a work in progress!  As part of my college units I need to do a creative one and it involves me making up 3 designs and then doing 1 of them on a model who will also have her hair/make up/outfit done; a whole look.  I am thinking of doing sugar skulls as my final choice and this was my first try.  I am going to redo them as a different nail shape, play around with colours some more and see if I can get it to look better.  Overall though this was a good first try!

Here is one of the videos I recently uploaded. (Wow has it been that long since I blogged?!)  Its actually pretty easy to do, just lines and dots :)  Check it out and let me know what you think!

This here I just uploaded on Friday.  It is really simple and super cute!  check it out :)

We got given our acrylic brushes at the college and also I came homemwith a few extra goodies!

I felt like a bit of a thief that day!  The files were the older ones that we replaced with the brand new ones that had come in and the old ones were just going to be thrown out.  some of them were still in ok condition to be used so we were allowed to help ourselves to those.  The magazine was also a freebie and I took home an empty tip box and 2 empty acrylic pots to use as nail art storage.

I loved this design!  Yet another on the pile of videos to edit.... *sigh*  Maybe when I'm off college at Christmas I ca work on getting some of these back dated things done!!  ("maybe")

Lastly for this blog post, this is my current design I am wearing!  I just LOVE this pink.  It is Love's A Beach by China Glaze.  It actually goes on matte like but if you want it glossy just put on a top coat!

Ok thats it for this weeks picture overload!  I will TRY and not take so long to update this but who knows!  Thanks for reading and thanks for supporting my work!  Please visit me on any of my social media and share the passion!

What I've been up to!

Hello!
I feel like it has been ages since I put a post on here!  I have plenty pictures to share with my recent work and my newest video too!  I am expecting a package from BangGood next week so that will be another lil update/video!  In realtion to my Youtube, I made it passed 200 subscribers!!  So happy =)  Thank You to all who have supported me so far!

I had a client getting her nails done for her sons wedding and we matched up the base colour to go with the outfit she was wearing.
To add the detail I used some silver polish to make flowers and leaves, then placed a pearl in the flower centres.

Next there is some nail art I done on myself.
I loved this one!  The picture doesn't do the colour justice, it was so bright, a true neon colour.  It actually took me a couple days to get used to having something so bright on my nails haha.  I received lots of compliments for this design also.

For this design I used foil to create the flower, I think it gave it a really nice effect.  I have no idea when I will get round to these 2 tutorials.  My latest video is from nail art 2 months ago!

I did this nail art at college yesterday;
This was really fun to do.  Me and a couple of other students were asked to make some nail art for the Commonwealth Games.  These are all the ones that I made.

This was my first attempt at doing french using acrylic.  Its very hard to do!  I must say that I don't think I actually did too bad at this attempt and I can only get better with more practice!

Lastly I will leave you with the video I uploaded this week of my rainbow dots nail design, I hope you like it!

Halloween Nail Art & Other!

Hello everyone!
I come to you today with not 1 but 3 videos!  I firstly have my Halloween design.  I took a while coming up with this one.  I wanted to do something different and unexpected, not the typical kind of designs you see at this time of year.  I hope that I succeeded!  I give you Alternate Halloween Nail Art: Rat Silhouettes!

Along with doing this I also decided it was time to take off my toenail art.  I was fed up looking at the glitter gel with zebra stripes so off it came.  I had picked up 3 new mylar products and was dying to try them out.  While doing this I thought why not make it a video?  As much as I hate my feet I went and made it anyway!

What do you think?  Want to see more toe nail designs?  I don't change them as much as my fingers but I think it would be fun to make these videos too!

So the third video came about after a little accident!  I had wanted to start making  some "How To" videos and just yesterday the dog managed to bend my thumb nail and it started to crack half way down :(  Instead of being sad about it I turned this into an opportunity!  So here is how to fix your nail using gel!

I hope you find this useful and would like to see some more "How to" vids!

I also got round to joining Instagram finally!  If you are on there feel free to follow me @lynsnailart.  I am also on all the other usual haunts of Twitter @nailsbylyn and facebook at www.facebook.com/lynsnailart.  Please feel free to come and join me and share your nail creations!  I'd love to see!
